L'album RAM nous promène, dans une Austin Martin so british, du blues à la musique de comédie musicale avec un égal bonheur. Les mélodies sont imparables et les virages sont négociés de main de maître. Les critiques acerbes de l'époque doivent maintenant manger leurs copies. Comme les bons vins, l'album s'est sacrément bonifié avec le temps. Sûrement qu'il était bon en 1971, mais le vent soufflait alors du côté des Led Zeppelin et puis le passé monumental de Paul McCartney le plombait plus qu'autre chose. Pour le deuxième album "solo" Paul et Linda McCartney se posent là. De Too Many People à Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey jusqu'à un Monkberry Moon Delight à la Screamin' Jay Hawkins en passant par The Back Seat Of My car et Ram on il fait sacrément bon monter avec RAM.
Sur la réédition de l'album en CD on trouve deux bonus Tracks : Another Day le premier single de Paul McCartney réalisé après les Beatles en février 1971 et Oh Woman, Oh Why le B-Side de Another Day.

RAM’s album drive us in a so british Austin Martin from the blues to the comédie musicale with the same sucess. The melodies are unstoppable and the turns are negotiated with a master hand. Sharp critics must now eat their reviews. Like the good vine, the album takes good with the time. Of course, it is a good album in 1971 but at the time the wind blows on Led Zeppelin and the monumental past of Paul McCartney doesn’t pleads in his favour. For their second "solo album" Paul & Linda McCartney sounds good for the eternity. From Too Many People to Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey as far as Monkberry Moon Delight in a Screamin' Jay Hawkins style to The Back Seat Of My car et Ram on it’s a very good thing to take a trip with RAM.
